This is our refund policy. Like everything else here, it's written in plain language so you know exactly where you stand before you pay for anything.
Tessakin is operated by Tessakin LLC, a limited liability company organized in the state of Georgia, United States. What you can be refunded depends on what you paid for, so this policy is organized by the kind of payment. If your situation isn't covered below, or something just went wrong, email hello@tessakin.social and a real person will help.
founding members
Founding members pay nothing. Founding access is free, so there is nothing to refund. If you joined as a founding member and believe you were charged, that's a mistake on our end, contact us and we'll reverse it in full right away.
supporter subscription
You can cancel your supporter subscription at any time. When you cancel, you keep supporter access through the end of the period you've already paid for, and you won't be charged again.
If you change your mind soon after starting, we'll refund your first charge in full as long as you ask within 14 days of it. After those first 14 days, cancelling stops future charges but the current period isn't refunded on a partial basis.
event tickets
Paid event tickets are refundable in full up until 7 days before the event. Hosts plan around who's coming, so within the final 7 days a ticket is no longer refundable.
If an event is cancelled or materially changed by the host or by us, you're refunded in full regardless of timing. If something genuinely exceptional kept you away, reach out, we read these case by case.
directory listings
A paid directory listing can be refunded in full within 30 days of the listing going live. That window gives you a real chance to see the listing working before it's final.
After 30 days, the listing fee for the current term isn't refundable, but you can turn off renewal at any time so you're not charged for the next term.
chargebacks, and asking us first
If a charge looks wrong, or you're unhappy with something you paid for, please email us before filing a dispute with your bank or card company. We'd much rather make it right directly, and we honour every legitimate refund request under this policy quickly.
Filing a chargeback without contacting us first can freeze the related account while the dispute is investigated, which slows things down for everyone. Talking to us first is faster and almost always resolves it.
how to request a refund
Email hello@tessakin.social with the email address on your account and what you'd like refunded. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method. Depending on your bank, it can take a few business days to appear.
